Code of Conduct
Dublin Padel League · All Participants
By participating in the Dublin Padel League, all players, team captains, and associated personnel acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
General Behaviour
Standards of conduct expected of all participants, on and off the court.
All participants must conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner, both on and off the court, and contribute to maintaining a positive atmosphere within the league.
Any form of abusive language or behaviour — including but not limited to shouting, swearing, or insulting remarks — will not be tolerated.
Players must respect the decisions of referees, officials, and other league representatives. If a player has an issue with a decision, they should raise the matter politely and in a timely manner, following the appropriate channels.
Players must respect their opponents and refrain from any behaviour intended to intimidate or distract them.
Player Responsibilities
Individual obligations each player must uphold throughout the season.
Players must ensure they are physically fit and able to play before participating in any match. Players should not participate if unwell or unable to perform safely due to injury.
Players must attend scheduled matches on time. If a player cannot attend, they must notify their team captain and the opposing team as early as possible.
Players must wear appropriate, recognised padel attire, including non-marking shoes, and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
Players should compete fairly and with integrity. This includes abiding by the rules of the game and not attempting to manipulate the outcome of a match.
Players are expected to comply with all rules set by the DPL Committee, including regulations related to match conduct, court behaviour, and sportsmanship.
Team Captain Responsibilities
Captains carry additional accountability for their team's conduct and administration.
Team captains are responsible for ensuring that all players under their guidance comply with this Code of Conduct.
Team captains must maintain good communication with both the DPL Committee and their players, ensuring that all relevant information is shared in a timely manner.
In the event of disputes or conflicts between players or teams, the team captain should attempt to resolve the issue fairly. If the matter cannot be resolved at team level, the DPL Committee should be informed for further mediation.
Team captains are responsible for ensuring the Fixture Report is accurately completed and submitted to the DPL Committee in the prescribed manner and time.
Court Etiquette
Respect for the facilities, opponents, and spectators during match play.
Players should respect the playing surface and facilities, ensuring courts are used responsibly and left in good condition after each match.
Players should avoid unnecessary noise or distractions during play, particularly when the opposing team is serving or at a critical moment of the match.
Spectators are also expected to follow the same standards of respect and good conduct while present at matches.
Equal Opportunity
The DPL is an inclusive league committed to fairness for all.
The Dublin Padel League is committed to creating an inclusive environment where players of all backgrounds and abilities are treated with respect and fairness.
Discrimination, harassment, or exclusion on the basis of gender, age, race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic will not be tolerated.
Any reports of discriminatory or prejudicial behaviour should be raised with the DPL Committee immediately. All reports will be taken seriously and addressed promptly.
